Bertha Alva Seely

Bertha Alva Seely passed away on May 21, 2012. She was born in Smeltertown, Texas on June 12, 1935. She graduated from El Paso Technical in 1952. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in December 1984. Most of her life she worked for Civil Service at Fort Bliss, except for ten years in which she lived in San Francisco, CA. where she worked as an executive assistant for the president of Crown Zellerback Corporation. Bertha retired from Civil Service in 1981. Bertha is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years Steve Edward Seely, her two daughters; Carol (Ken) Stolting and Susanna Chesterman, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Silverio Alva Jr. and Angel Ruben Alva, and one sister, Gloria Boyer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Silverio Alva and Desideria Solis Alva. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:30 am at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by Sunset Funeral Home-Eastside, 750 N. Carolina, 594-4424. In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to ” Susan G. Komen Foundation ” 1700 Murchison El Paso, Texas 79903. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
