Hazel Seely Funeral Held Here Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Howard (Hazel) Seely, 56, life-long resident of the Algona area, were held at 1:30 p.m. in the First Methodist church, with Rev. William Noland officiating. Burial was at Riverview cemetery, with McCullough’s Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Charles Dearchs, Ray Beamish, Everett Hanna, Kyle Keith, Wm. Kuhn, Sr., and Wm. Ringgenberg.

Mrs. Seely was born Hazel Helen Burtis in Kossuth county on May 23, 1911. She was married at Mason City, Oct. 13, 1928, to Howard Seely, who survives.

She died Thursday evening at St. Ann hospital.

Survivors include one son, J. Craig Seely, Baltic, S.D., a brother, Leo Burtis, and a sister, Mrs. Godfrey Geilenfeld, both of Eugene, Ore., and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Seely was prominent in state purebred livestock circles. She served as secretary for one year of the Midwest Cheviot Society.
