Lois J. Seely, 86, of Hiawatha, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following an extended illness. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at the Robins Church of the Brethren. Private inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Surviving are her children, Robert Seely Jr. of Hiawatha and Carol Watkoski and husband Wayne of New Stanton, Pa.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings Doris Hession, Sonny Smith, Glenn Smith, Yvonne Van Etten and Carol Smith.
Lois was born Sept. 27, 1923, in New Haven, Conn., the daughter of Lowell and Doris (Roland) Smith. She was united in marriage to Robert Seely on Oct. 31, 1944, in Iowa City, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established.
