Margueritte Blackwell Seely

Margueritte Blackwell Seely, 76, a retired bookkeeper and former substitute teacher who was a member of the University United Methodist Church in College Park, died of cardiovascular disease Jan. 6 at Prince George’s Hospital Center. She lived in College Park.

Mrs. Seely was born in Rocky Mount, Va., and grew up in Roanoke. She was a graduate of Longwood College in Farmwood, Va. Before moving here in 1953, she had taught high school English and Latin in North Carolina and the Roanoke area.

She was a bookkeeper for Woods Florist in College Park for 16 years before retiring in 1981. In the 1950s, she had been a substitute teacher at High Point High School in Beltsville.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Donald Joseph Seely of College Park; a daughter, Kameron S. Behrmann of Beltsville; a sister, Betty Nofsinger of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and a grandson
