PORTAGE – Mary E. Seely, 90, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Divine Savior Healthcare.
Mary was born July 20, 1921, to Dugald and Elva Kohler Lurvey. She graduated from Portage High School in 1939. Mary was married to Richard C. Seely on Nov. 11, 1941. They raised their family of four boys in Wyocena. Mary worked at Columbia County Healthcare for nine years. She was a member of Eastern Star, Chapter 100, and the DAV Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Richard M. (Eleanor) of Portage; a son, Scott V. of Crown Point, Ind.; her grandchildren, Wendy Seely, Terry (Sarah) Seely, Lisa (Scott) Peterson, Richard C. Seely II and Jeannette Seely; five great-grandchildren; several nieces; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Patrick J. Seely; a son, Steven L. Seely; a grandson, Ryan Seely; half-sisters, Margaret Schreier and Myrtle Forsyth; brother, Donald Lurvey and his wife, Lynn; and a nephew, Roger Forsyth.
At Mary’s request, there will be no visitation. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
