Anna Barbara Seelye

GREEN VALLEY – Anna Barbara Seelye, 93, of 9705 Goetze Road died at 5:55 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2000, at Pekin Hospital in Pekin.

Born March 3, 1907, in Green Valley to Harm and Wendelka Eggena, she married Chester Seelye on June 10, 1928, in Manito. He died Oct. 1, 1977, in Pekin.

She also was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

–Surviving are one daughter, Helen Struben of Green Valley; two grandsons, Randy Struben of Green Valley and Daryl Struben of Pekin; one granddaughter, Yvonne Hand of Bartonville; and four greatgrandchildren.

She worked for American Distillery and also Caterpillar Inc. for several years. She owned and operated Seelye fruit farm near Green Valley.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Thomas Wenndt will officiate. Burial will be in San Prairie Cemetery in rural Green Valley.

Memorials may be made to the Green Valley Volunteer Fire Department or her church.
