August 28, 1923 ~ December 14, 2016

After 93 years of a fun and productive life, Floyd “Jiggs” LeRoy Seeley passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, in Vancouver, Washington.

Jiggs is survived by his daughter, Courtney L. Eyer (husband Dan) and grandsons, Trevor B. (13) and Spencer K. (9) of Davie, Florida; son/nephew he raised, V. John Seeley; and John’s daughter, Shannon E. (who always called him grandpa) of St. Helens, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty A. (Brooks) Seeley; his parents; eight siblings; and granddaughter, Vicky (Woodley) Stevens.

Jiggs was the youngest of nine born to “Wid” and Grace L. Seeley on a ranch at Skamania Landing, Skamania, Washington. The family band played at local venues. Jiggs played the banjo and the saxophone.
Met best friend, Ernie Koch, in 1930 and helped him become the NW Stock Car Racing Champion.
Jiggs went into the US Army during WWII and landed at Normandy on day three. He served with the 246th Engineer Combat Battalion.

Jiggs retired from Weyerhaeuser after almost 28 years, then retired as a mechanic, and finally really retired from security work, mostly served at Freightliner.

In 2010, Jiggs moved into Bridgewood where his “big little sister” Sue resided. He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed playing beanbag baseball and attending softball games of John and Logan Nortzes teams with his niece, Sharon Sue Geiger. Jiggs made many friends at Bridgewood, including special ladies who preceded him in death, Mildred and Doris.

The family invites you to attend a Celebration of Life at 40 et 8, 7607 NE 26th Ave., Vancouver, WA, 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. Honor Guard will present the flag at 3 p.m. Food and beverages will be served. Jiggs will be interned at Willamette National Cemetery with his wife, Betty A. Seeley.
