E.A. Seeley, Ex-BFG Personnel Manager

Edwin A. Seeley, 74, retired Goodrich personnel manager, died Monday in MediCenter.

Mr. Seeley, of 1114 W. Exchange st., was employed at Goodrich for 36 years, and was manager of field personnel and training before being named manager of personnel practices in 1953.  He retired in November, 1961.

A graduate of the University of Michigan and a member of Sigma Pi Epsilon fraternity, he was a member of the National Society of Training Executives, and served as its president in 1943.

A native of Farmington, Mich., Mr. Seeley lived in Akron since 1927 and was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church and Portage Country Club.

Mr. Seeley was a World War I veteran and during World War II was loaned by Goodrich to the Army Ordinance Department’s Tank and Automotive Center in Detroit, where he served as executive personnel advisor.

He leaves his wife, Ruth J.; daughter Mrs. Suzanne Rogers, Akron; sisters, Frances Russell, Largo, Fla and Mrs. Ruth Towner, Muskegon, Mich.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Carr Fairlawn chapel.  The body will be cremated.

There will be no calling hours. Memorials may be made to the women’s board for the building fund of Children’s Hospital.
