Edward B. Seeley

Mr. Edward B. Seeley, of Winchester, formerly of Everett, passed away peacefully at Aberjona Nursing Center on Monday, September 25, 2017, at age 92.

Ed was born in Swanville, Maine on June 13, 1925 and raised and educated in Everett. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Medic in the Hospital Corps, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. A descendant of the Mayflower, Ed was delighted to be a longtime member of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants. Ed worked for Arthur D. Little as a Laboratory Assistant in Cambridge for many years.

Ed was a quiet, respectful man. He was an avid reader, especially anything involving history. He happily served as the Church historian for First Parish Church in Malden where he was a longtime, dedicated member.

Ed was happiest spending time in Swanville, Maine at the family cabin that was grandfathered into the natural surroundings. He had a great love for the peaceful, rustic environment around the lake and returned every chance he could for his entire life. Ed will be remembered as a true gentleman who treated everyone the same, kindly.

Ed was the devoted son of the late Charles E. Seeley and Evelyn A. (Spaulding) Seeley.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor & remembrance of Ed’s life for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 4-6pm, and for his Funeral Service at First Parish, Universalist, 2 Elm St., Malden, celebrated on Thursday at 10am. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Swanville, ME. Gifts in Ed’s name may be made to First Parish, 2 Elm Street, Malden, MA 02148.
