Edith B. McPherson Seeley

Mrs. Myron Seeley, Life Resident, Dies

Mrs. Myron S. Seeley, 273 Water street, passed away today at 8:15 a.m. in Community Hospital where she had been a patient since July 5, when she fell in the doorway of her home, suffering a fractured leg near the hip.  She had been in declining health for several years.  She was considered by her many friends as a most kind and considerate neighbor and devoted to her family and home.

Mrs. Seeley, the former Edith B. McPherson, was in her 75th year, having been born December 17, 1880 in Northumberland, the daughter of Milton McPherson and Mary E. Scott.  Her father was a veteran of the Civil War.  She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service and the auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

She is survived by her husband, Myron S. Seeley, a retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Diehl, of Northumberland, and Mrs. Alfred Benson, Jr., of York; and a son Randolph, at home; also a sister, Mrs. Eva Reeser, of Lewisburg, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Her death severs a happy marital union of nearly 52 years, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Seeley having been married December 28, 1903.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the R.L. Davis and Sons funeral home.  Rev. Bart E. Crites, minister of the Methodist church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening.
