(Squeak) – Age 87 Died peacefully surrounded by family on July 9, 2012 Resident of Scandia, MN and Lakeland, FL. Survived by Betsy, wife of 66 years; brother Bill Seeley of Red Wing; daughters Diane Herman (John), Terri Seeley (Jeff); son Frederic (Marty); eight grandchildren (Lori, Lisa, Dustan, Nicholas, Brian, Karen, Margot, Jenny) and five great grandchildren (Chelsea, Zach, Micah, Kayla, Siri). Duane was a World War II Veteran, flying 25 missions over Europe. He worked in the food business, ultimately owning and developing a thriving supermarket in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Growing up in Red Wing, Duane developed his love of the out doors and was an avid gardener and outdoorsman until recent years. He had a great sense of humor right up until his final hours. He will be greatly missed and loved by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to the Minnesota Alzheimer’s Association or Friends of the Mississippi. Memorial service to be held August 18th 11:00 a.m. at the family residence, 23355 Quentin Ave. N, Scandia.
