Eunice Rodgers HULL, Ill. — Eunice Rodgers, 90, of Hull, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at her home.

Eunice was born July 20, 1925, in Alton, Texas, to Henry Wesley and Laura Eva Barnes Seely. She was married to Grover Davis Rodgers on March 25, 1941, at Frederick, Okla. He preceded her in death on their 67th wedding anniversary, March 25, 2008.

Eunice attended school in Texas through the 10th grade and told of picking cotton in her childhood.

She enjoyed gardening and canning and sharing the produce. Eunice gathered pecans and picked them out and sold to many in the area. She enjoyed her family and all the grandkids. Eunice was an accomplished seamstress and sewed for many in the Pleasant Hill and Mendon areas. She loved to watch St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Survivors include one son, Gene Rodgers of Mendon; one daughter; Jan Kenady (Paul) of Hull; five grandchildren, John Rodgers (Shoshone) of Missouri, Doug Lawson of Indiana, Karen Robbins (Lee) of Hull, Tori Nichols of Mendon and Jeremy McAdams of California; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; Mary Darlyne Lawson in 1987; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Rodgers; four grandsons, Dale Lawson Jr., David Kenady, Andrew Peter and Matt Peter; one great-great-grandson, Adam Lawson; and four brothers and two sisters.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at James O’Donnell Funeral Home at Hannibal, Mo. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in Akers Chapel Cemetery in rural Hull.

Pallbearers will be Tori Nichols, Karen Robbins, Lee Robbins, John Rodgers, Doug Lawson, Verne Reed and Kevin Keithly. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Rodgers’ great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at James O’Donnell Funeral Home, at Hannibal.

MEMORIALS: Akers Chapel Cemetery in care of James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
