David John Seeley

David John Seeley, of Hoover, beloved son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sherrill Seeley and brother of the late James Seeley, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 peacefully at home after a thirteen year battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly Eley Seeley, his daughters Mimi Seeley and Maggie Trott, and son in law, Will Trott. David was born March 20th, 1950 in Talladega, Alabama where he spent his childhood years. David was a graduate of the American Community High School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Saint Bernard College Cullman, Alabama, and UAB. David was the co-owner of ABC Child Development Center and retired after 20 years of service from Alabama Power. He served as the chair for the Investments Committee of the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he served as an Eucharistic Minister. Over the years, he enjoyed competing in swimming and running and was a two-time marathon finisher. Some of his favorite things to do included cooking and spending time with family and friends; David truly never met a stranger. The family will receive friends Thursday, the 19th of December from twelve o’clock until two o’clock in the afternoon in the sanctuary of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. The Right of Christian Burial will immediately follow. An inurnment will be held after at the Prince of Peace Columbarium. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Brian Adler and his staff at Alabama Oncology. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Backpack Program at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. 4600 Preserve Parkway Hoover, AL 35226.
