George P. Seeley Dies in 58th Year

Following a long illness the death occurred today at his home, 307 Cambridge street, of George P. Seeley, resident of Ottawa for the past 30 years.  He was in his 58th year.

A son of the late George Seeley, Sr., and his wife, Martha Cooper, Mr. Seeley was born at Huntingdon, Que., and moved with his parents to Arnprior when a child.  He was educated at Arnprior schools and came to Ottawa as a young man and followed the calling of salesman.

Mr. Seeley was married in 1909 to Katie B. Blyth, who survived him with two daughters, Dorothy M. Seeley and Mrs. S.L. Beamish, both of Ottawa; two brothers, Harry of Vancouver, and Robert D. Seeley, Ottawa, and a sister, Mrs. George McKay, of Chicago.  He was a devout member of Bell Street United Church.

The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Radmore-Stewart Funeral Home, 1323 Wellington street, with Rev. A.H. Osterhour, minister of Bell Street United Church, officiating.  Burial will be at Pinecreast cemetery.

George P. Seeley Mourned by Many

Many friends gathered to pay tribute to the memory of George P. Seeley, well known Ottawa resident who died on Wednesday, at his funeral held Friday afternoon from the Radmore Stewart Funeral Home, 1323 Wellington street.Rev. A.H. Osterhout, minister of Bell Street Church, conducted the service.  Interment was in Pincreast cemetery.

Chief mourners were his widow, the former Katie B. Blyth; two daughters, Dorothy M. Seeley, and Mrs. S.L. Beamish, both of Ottawa; two brothers, Harry, of Vancouver, and Robert D. Seeley, of Ottawa; and a sister, Mrs. George McKay, of Chicago.

Among the many floral tributes were pieces from, the officers and members of Capital City Lodge, No. 733, O.E.S.; Bell Street Church Y.P.U.; Bell Street Church W.A.; Bell Street Church Sunday School; Office Staff of the E.B. Eddy Co., Letd; girls of the E.B. Eddy Co. Ltd.; Bridge Club; and Past Matrons Club, Capital City Chapter, O.E.S.
