Henry B. Seeley Passes Away

H.B. Seeley, who for years had been identified with the business interests of Jerome township, died at his home Thursday, at half past two o’clock, aged 65 years.  In his death Jerome township loses one of her best and most valuable citizens.  He came to Ohio in 1849 and located on a farm in Delaware county, where he resided until 1865 when he removed to his late home and started into the mercantile business, which he conducted successfully.  By close attention to business and liberal ideas in dealing with his fellow man, he built up one of the most fruitful country trades in the county.  He had a disposition that was amiable and kind to everybody, and no resident of the county had more warm personal friends than he.

About two months ago he had an operation on one of his limbs in which it was necessary to amputate the lower part, below the knee.  Since that time his health has rapidly declined and his ailment is thought to have resulted in tuberculosis of the bone.

He leaves a wife and seven children – four girls and three boys, to mourn his demise.
