Thane Spurr
Valley Center – Thane Spurr, 75, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at her home of natural causes.
Born Nov. 27, 1927, in Glendale, she lived in Valley Center for 11 years.
Thane was a respected and accomplished horsewoman. She lived in North San Diego County most of her life and raised Arabian horses for many years. Thane was a former member of several North County trail riding clubs and Arabian horse associations. She especially loved to ride the local trails on her beloved mare, “Cameo.”
Thane will be greatly missed by her family and by her many friends and peers. She is also missed by her three miniature poodles, Eva, Crystal and Percy.
Her family appreciated all the support and sympathy that has been given during this sad time. It is nice to know that she is reunited with Cameo for one final trail ride.
Mrs. Spurr is survived by her husband of 50 years, Edward Sputt of Valley Center; daughters Kim West of Valley Center and Tamara Spurr of San Diego; and sister Jane Buell of Fresno.
